TurboslideDocumentationNew Presentation

Run Turboslide yourself

Run the Turboslide studio from its repository on your own computer or server, and choose where presentations are stored.

Turboslide is open source under the MIT license. The repository holds the studio, the command line and every package they use.

Run it on your computer

You need Node 24 and pnpm 11, which corepack installs. Renders, downloads and the tests also need a Chromium build, which playwright-core installs.

git clone https://github.com/Kevin-Liu-01/Turboslide.git
cd Turboslide
corepack enable
pnpm install
pnpm exec playwright-core install --with-deps chromium
pnpm dev

pnpm dev starts the studio at http://localhost:4321. Presentations are folders under decks/ in the repository, and every change is written there.

Build it for a server

NITRO_PRESET=node-server pnpm --filter @turboslide/studio build:deploy
node apps/studio/.output/server/index.mjs

The build writes a Node server to apps/studio/.output. The same build with NITRO_PRESET=vercel writes a Vercel deployment.

Where presentations are stored

The studio picks one store when it starts:

StoreWhenWhere presentations are keptEdits last
fileA checkout of the repositoryThe decks/ folderYes
tmpA hosted server with no Blob storeA temporary folderNo, until the server restarts
blobA hosted server with a Blob storeVercel BlobYes

Set TURBOSLIDE_STORE to file, tmp or blob to choose one yourself. TURBOSLIDE_OVERLAY_DIR moves the temporary folder.

Settings

VariableWhat it sets
TURBOSLIDE_STOREThe store, as above.
BLOB_READ_WRITE_TOKENThe Blob store's token, for the blob store.

TURBOSLIDE_DOWNLOAD_SECRETThe key that signs download addresses, 32 characters or more.
GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID, GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRETSign in with Google. Without both, the studio offers no sign in.

Keep every token and secret out of the repository.
